Website maintenance & hosting.
What comes after go-live: hosting free in year one, then CHF 300 a year (domain not included) — and maintenance for changes or monthly content from CHF 100 a month. With an honest line on what maintenance is not.
Ask about maintenanceWebsite maintenance at DLM Digital costs CHF 100–300 a month (excl. VAT) — for changes to your website or monthly content creation. Hosting is free in year one, then CHF 300 a year (domain not included). Both are separate from the website itself: maintenance is optional, and you can take the hosting elsewhere at any time.
This page sets out what maintenance and hosting cover with us, what they do not, when a maintenance contract is worth it and when not, and how maintenance differs from ongoing SEO. What the website itself costs and how a project runs is on have a website built.

What do website maintenance and hosting cost?
Hosting is free in year one and CHF 300 a year after that (domain not included); maintenance costs CHF 100 to 300 a month, all excluding VAT. Where your maintenance sits in that range depends on what you need: occasional changes to copy, images or prices sit at the lower end, newly created monthly content at the upper end. The exact scope is in the quote before you sign anything.
The domain is not part of hosting. It is registered to your company and you pay the annual fee to the registrar. That is deliberate: the domain is the one item that cannot be repaired when you change provider, only bought back — so it belongs to you from the start.
For market context: a Swiss agency blog (beyondweb.ch, as of 7 October 2026) puts maintenance at roughly CHF 25–250 a month. That is a market figure from a small sample, not an independent study. Maintenance offers can only be compared by content anyway: what is in the monthly amount, and what does everything beyond it cost?
What is included in website maintenance — and what is not?
Maintenance covers changes to your existing website and, if you want it, new content every month. It is what many businesses mean when they search for "website support": somebody makes sure the site is right, without you having to go into the editing system yourself.
- Included: changes to existing pages — copy, images, prices, opening hours, team — and monthly content creation if agreed, such as articles or service pages.
- Not included: new features (booking, calculators, customer area, shop), a redesign or relaunch (a new build starts at CHF 3,000), SEO, GEO or Google Ads, and the domain fee.
New monthly content also helps findability, because search engines and AI assistants favour current, concrete content — but nobody can guarantee that. Anything beyond the agreed scope is quoted beforehand, not afterwards.
Hosting: what does "free in year one" mean?
For websites we build, we cover hosting for the first twelve months at no cost; from year two it costs CHF 300 a year (excl. VAT). You do not have to find a host for go-live, and the site runs from day one.
It does not tie you in. The domain, credentials and source code belong to you. If you later want to run the website with another provider, you take it with you without rebuilding. That is the difference from many website subscriptions, where hosting, upkeep and the site sit in one contract and do not belong to you at the end.
Anyone looking for website hosting in Switzerland should settle four things in writing with every provider, ourselves included: where is the server, how often is it backed up and how quickly is a backup restored, who has access to the hosting, and how does cancellation work?
Maintenance contract or look after it yourself?
A maintenance contract is worth it when things change regularly and nobody in the business has time for it — otherwise it is not. If you adjust an opening time twice a year, do it yourself in the editing system and save the monthly fee.
It is different when prices, offers or staff change often, when you run seasonal promotions, or when something new should appear on the website every month. A fixed monthly amount is then usually easier to plan than many small one-off jobs, and the website stays current even when everything else in the business takes priority.
An honest test: look at your website and count how many details are no longer right today. If there are several, the question is not whether you need maintenance, but who takes it on.
Maintenance, support or SEO — where is the difference?
Maintenance keeps the website current; SEO and GEO work specifically on getting it found. Both are often called "support", but they are not the same — and a quote that mixes them is hard to compare.
- Website maintenance (CHF 100–300 a month): changes and, if wanted, monthly content.
- Local SEO (from CHF 300 a month): visibility in your region, Google Business Profile, local pages.
- Full-service SEO (from CHF 400 a month): analysis, site plan, content and technology for better positions, with a monthly report.
- GEO (from CHF 300 a month): visibility in AI answers from ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and others.
When you should not book maintenance with us
In three cases we advise against a maintenance contract. First, if you rarely change anything and somebody in the business can make the changes. Second, if the website itself is the problem: an outdated or slow site does not get better through maintenance, only more current — sometimes a rebuild costs less than years of upkeep. Third, if what you actually want is more enquiries: that is a question of visibility, not maintenance, and the budget belongs in local SEO or ongoing SEO.

Frequently asked questions about website maintenance and hosting
Maintenance costs CHF 100 to 300 a month with us (excl. VAT), depending on the agreed scope: the lower end for occasional changes, the upper end for monthly content creation. The exact scope is in the quote. Hosting is separate: free in year one, CHF 300 a year after that (domain not included). For context, a Swiss agency blog (beyondweb.ch, as of 7 October 2026) puts maintenance at roughly CHF 25–250 a month as a market figure.
Two things: changes to your existing website — copy, images, prices, opening hours, team, individual pages — and, if you want it, monthly content creation, meaning new content such as articles or service pages. Not included are new features, a redesign and ongoing marketing such as SEO, GEO or Google Ads; those have their own quotes or monthly prices.
For websites we build, we cover hosting for the first twelve months at no cost. From year two it costs CHF 300 a year (excl. VAT). The registrar’s domain fee is not included; the domain is registered to your company.
Not necessarily — maintenance is optional. If you edit content yourself in the editing system and rarely change anything, you do not need it. It makes sense when nobody in the business has time for changes, when offers, prices or staff change often, or when new content should appear every month. A website nobody touches for years does not get cheaper. It only gets older.
No. Maintenance keeps your website current: changes and new content. Ongoing SEO works specifically on your positions in Google — with analysis, a site plan, measurement and a monthly report. With us, local SEO starts at CHF 300 a month, full-service SEO at CHF 400 a month, and GEO for visibility in AI answers at CHF 300 a month. Monthly content in maintenance helps visibility but does not replace an SEO retainer.
Yes. The domain, credentials and source code belong to you. You can take the website to another host or agency without rebuilding it. Ask every provider before signing how cancellation works and what a move means technically.
No. Maintenance is only for websites we built to our DLM Digital standard, because we know their technology and structure. We do not maintain WordPress websites at all, plugin updates included. For a site built elsewhere, a website audit or a rebuild in the Start package from CHF 3,000 is the more honest answer than a maintenance contract; why we do not work with WordPress is explained on our WordPress alternative page.
The website is a one-off from CHF 3,000 (Start), from CHF 5,000 (Standard, with on-page SEO and basic AI visibility) or from CHF 10,000 (Complete, with SEO and GEO). Hosting is free in year one, then CHF 300 a year (domain not included). Maintenance is optional at CHF 100–300 a month. The website goes live two weeks once all materials are in.
