What a website costs in Switzerland and in Zurich: three packages from CHF 3,000, 5,000 and 10,000, what moves the price, hosting and maintenance, and the market — every third-party figure with source and date.

This page is about the price question only: our range against the market, the three packages, what drives the amount, the running costs and how to compare two quotes that are thousands of francs apart. Our range against the Swiss market
A complete website costs CHF 3,000 to CHF 25,000 with us, which sits inside the band Swiss agencies quote for SME websites. The beyondweb.ch survey is the only current one with a disclosed method that we found; it is still a small sample from an agency blog.

Which packages are there, and what is in them?
Three packages, each a “from” price excluding VAT. They differ less in craftsmanship than in how much work goes into being found: Start brings the technical search foundation, Standard adds on-page SEO and the basics for AI search, Complete builds the page plan from keyword research and lays the groundwork for visibility in AI answers. Page counts are guidelines, not promises; the binding amount is in the quote, together with the list of pages included. No package comes with a ranking guarantee.

What do other providers in Zurich charge?
Publicly stated prices in the Zurich market are far apart, and three pricing models sit side by side. Fixed-price packages below CHF 1,000 to around CHF 2,000 are usually a template with few pages. Website subscriptions from about CHF 75 a month come with 12 to 36 months’ commitment. Project packages run from around CHF 2,500 to CHF 50,000 and more; that is where our packages sit, between the fixed-price studios and the larger agencies whose entry point is CHF 10,000. Stated delivery times range from one day for a template to 16 weeks for large projects.

What drives the price of a website?
Within CHF 3,000 to CHF 25,000 it is your project, not the provider, that sets the amount. Two businesses asking the same agency on the same day can hear very different figures without either being badly advised. Five factors are worth settling for yourself before the first conversation.
- Pages with their own content. Not the number of menu items, but the pages someone writes copy for, picks images for and structures. Going from five to fifteen such pages is the biggest single price driver.
- Languages. A second language does not double the development, but it does double the editorial work — and that continues after go-live. Start bilingual and you maintain everything twice for the life of the site. For many businesses in Zurich, German and English is exactly this decision.
- Features. A contact form is included. A calculator, booking, a customer area or a link to your software are not. Once sales transactions come in, you leave website territory; see e-commerce agency.
- Content. Who writes the copy and who supplies the images? This is the most common silent difference between two quotes — and the most common reason a deadline slips.
- Relaunch. If the new site replaces an old one, its addresses must be redirected to the matching new pages. Small in amount, large in effect: a forgotten redirect costs visibility you already had.
If you want to save, save on page count and languages — not on care in the build, because you pay for that twice at the next relaunch.
Which cost blocks arise, and when?
Building a website consists of five cost blocks that come one after the other. Seeing only the total of a quote, you cannot judge what you are paying for. The split below reflects our experience with SME projects; it is not a market statistic.
- Concept and structure (around 10–15 per cent). Who should find the site, which question it answers, which pages that needs. It feels expensive for “just thinking”, yet it is the only block whose mistakes make every later one dearer.
- Design (around 20–30 per cent). Adapting a template takes hours, a distinct look takes days. This is where a quote at the lower end differs most from one at the upper end.
- Content (around 15–25 per cent, often outside the quote). Copy and images — missing from many quotes because the client takes it on.
- Build and technology (around 30–40 per cent). Pages, navigation, forms, load times, mobile display, accessibility, and any features beyond an information site.
- Migration and go-live (around 5–10 per cent). Redirecting old addresses, switching domain and email, setting up measurement, testing.
This order explains why a price can still move before the quote: until concept and page structure are settled, every figure is an estimate. Reputable providers fix the binding amount once the scope is in writing. Anyone who names a fixed price without a single conversation has either built in a buffer or is delivering a template.
What else is on offer outside the range?
Two offers sit outside CHF 3,000–25,000, each with its own binding entry point.
- Landing page from CHF 2,500. One focused page for a campaign or an offer. It is not a complete website and the only product below CHF 3,000.
- Web app or MVP from CHF 10,000. Once accounts, workflows and data are the core, it is software rather than a website. See web app development and, for the phone, app development in Zurich.
And if your budget is below CHF 3,000 and you need more than one page, you will not get a complete website from us. The honest route is a site builder you fill and maintain yourself; what that can and cannot do is on build a website with AI.
What does running a website cost per year?
With us hosting is free in year one, then CHF 300 a year (domain not included) — the base cost that applies even if nobody touches the website. The annual domain fee to the registrar comes on top; the domain is registered to your company.
Everything beyond that is a choice, not an obligation. If you do not want to make changes yourself, or want new content every month, maintenance costs CHF 100–300 a month, depending on the agreed scope. For market context, beyondweb.ch (as of 7 October 2026) puts maintenance at roughly CHF 25–250 a month. What hosting and maintenance cover is on website maintenance and hosting.
Ongoing work on your visibility is not maintenance but a separate mandate: local SEO starts at CHF 300 a month; all SEO prices are on SEO costs.
How do you compare two quotes that are CHF 8,000 apart?
Not by price, but by five details that must appear in both quotes. A gap of CHF 8,000 between two offers for “the same” project is normal — usually the two documents simply describe two different projects.
- The number of pages with their own content. If it is missing, the price cannot be compared.
- Who supplies copy and images. A quote that includes copywriting will be higher than one that assumes your input.
- What applies after go-live. Who owns design, content and source code, who has access to hosting and domain, and can you switch provider without rebuilding? With subscription models this is the most important question of all.
- Whether a redirect list is included. In a relaunch, the most important technical item.
- When the delivery time starts. “Two weeks” from order is not the same as “two weeks” once all materials are in. Ask which materials are meant.
Only when both documents answer these points the same way are you actually comparing prices. Which questions belong in a first meeting is on web agency; the project calculator gives you an estimate to hold every quote against.
Frequently asked questions about website costs
At DLM Digital a website costs CHF 3,000 to CHF 25,000 (excl. VAT), in three packages: Start from CHF 3,000 for a simple entry-level site, Standard from CHF 5,000 including standard SEO and basic AI visibility, and Complete from CHF 10,000 for a full-scope website built to rank. Where your project lands depends on the number of pages, languages, features and content work. For market context, a Swiss agency blog (beyondweb.ch, survey of 36 of 161 agencies, as of 7 October 2026) puts an SME website of up to 15 pages at CHF 5,000–15,000 and template or fixed-price websites at CHF 2,000–5,000.
With us the same as anywhere else in Switzerland: packages from CHF 3,000, from CHF 5,000 and from CHF 10,000, within a range of up to CHF 25,000. Our studio is in Zollikon next to Zurich, and the price does not depend on where the client sits. Publicly stated entry prices in the Zurich market vary widely: on the price pages we retrieved on 11 October 2026 they run from fixed-price offers below CHF 1,000 and website subscriptions from about CHF 75 a month to agency packages starting at CHF 10,000. Offers only become comparable through their scope.
With us a website is live 2 weeks once all materials are in. Complete means: accepted quote, approved page plan, content for every page, logo and images with cleared rights, access to domain and DNS, and one contact person who can decide. In practice it is almost always the materials that move the date, hardly ever the production — which is why the clock only starts once everything is in.
With us hosting is free in year one, then CHF 300 a year (domain not included). The annual domain fee to the registrar comes on top; the domain is registered to your company. Maintenance is optional: for changes or monthly content creation it costs CHF 100–300 a month, depending on the agreed scope. For market context, beyondweb.ch (as of 7 October 2026) puts maintenance at roughly CHF 25–250 a month. Ongoing work on visibility is a separate mandate: local SEO starts at CHF 300 a month.
In year one almost always, over three years rarely. The website subscriptions Swiss providers list on their price pages (retrieved 11 October 2026) start at around CHF 75 to 299 a month, usually with a 12- to 36-month minimum term. A subscription at CHF 150 a month costs CHF 5,400 over three years — the same order of magnitude as the Standard package plus two years of hosting, after which the website is yours. A subscription can still be right when cash is tight or upkeep should be included. Either way, ask in writing what happens to domain, content and source code when the contract ends.
As a market figure: the beyondweb.ch price comparison (survey of 36 of 161 agencies, as of 7 October 2026) gives CHF 120–250 an hour for agencies and CHF 110–180 for freelancers. That is an agency blog with a small sample, not an independent study. We do not bill websites by the hour but at a project price within CHF 3,000–25,000 that becomes binding with the quote, so the amount follows the agreed scope rather than counted hours.
