Han Kitchen.
The Challenge
Han Kitchen combines Korean and Japanese cuisine, from bibimbap and kimchi to sushi, in the heart of Zurich-Oerlikon. In daily restaurant life nobody sits at a computer: if a reservation request is missed between kitchen and service, or only seen hours later, the table goes to a competitor. At the same time, guests should get a personal confirmation rather than an anonymous system email. And the website should be found in searches for Korean or Japanese food in Zurich, including in AI answers.
Our Solution
We built the website with Next.js: a menu organised by section (starters, Korea, Japan, sashimi, rolls, maki, nigiri) with its own page per dish, and an online reservation in three steps — date, time and party size, then contact details. Behind it runs an admin app that can be added to the phone's home screen like an app. Every new reservation and every contact message instantly triggers a push notification, such as «New reservation · 4 people» with name, date and time. One tap opens the request. As a backup, an email also goes to the restaurant. When confirming or declining, a ready-made, editable message appears with date, time, party size and address. «Via WhatsApp» opens it directly in the restaurant's WhatsApp, and the message goes to the guest from the restaurant's own account, with no cost per message. SMS works as an alternative. The app records whether and how the guest was informed. On top come scheduling, customer management, messages and CSV export. A cookie-free visitor statistics dashboard without third parties shows visits, page views, call, reservation, directions and WhatsApp clicks, popular pages and dishes, and where visitors come from, with a separate group for AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini. Restaurant and FAQ schema, llms.txt and ai.txt take care of search.
